# 🧬 Choosing the Right Pair

Good breeding starts with good pairing choices. Before breeding, think about:

- The parents' stats
- The traits you want in the foal
- Breed and bloodline goals
- Fertility and long-term breeding plans

Breeding is not just about producing foals quickly. It is also about building horses with purpose, whether that means better lines, stronger performance traits, or a breeding program you are proud of. It is important to get your horses genetic tested for responsible breeding.

#### `Pregnancy`

Once breeding is successful, the mare becomes pregnant and the pregnancy begins immediately.

Pregnancies also have:

- A **chance of miscarriage**
- A **chance of twins**

Pregnant mares can recieve an `ultrasound` via Vet to recieve the estimated due date. If a mare goes past her estimated due date, the mare can have a `c-section` done.
