The Welfare menu is one of the most important places to check. It currently shows player-facing wellbeing details like:

  • fullness
  • hydration
  • protein
  • lipids
  • carbohydrates
  • sugar
  • hoof cleanliness
  • overall cleanliness
  • hoof length
  • blood type, if visible
  • wormer status
  • daily care completion
  • heat status, when relevant
  • last teeth float
  • wolf teeth removal
  • deciduous teeth removal

This menu is the best place to get a fast overview of whether your horse is being properly maintained.

Feeding and Hydration

Food and water matter for more than just appearances. The system tracks fullness and hydration, and the welfare menu also shows nutrition breakdowns like protein, lipids, carbohydrates, and sugar.

If these are ignored, your horse’s condition can slip, and that can affect overall wellbeing.

Good feeding habits:

  • make sure the horse has access to food
  • make sure the horse has access to water
  • do not ignore low fullness or hydration
  • keep an eye on the nutrition bars, not just the top-level health colorbars

Cleanliness and Hoof Care

A horse’s condition is not just internal. The Welfare menu also tracks:

  • hoof cleanliness `/h hoof-clean-tool`
  • overall cleanliness `/h brush`
  • hoof length `ask a farrier for a hoof trim`

This means groomingGrooming and hoof care are part of wellbeing, not just roleplay flavor. If these are slipping, your horse is not being maintained properly.

A good routine is:

  • complete daily care regularly
  • keep the horse clean
  • watch hoof condition
  • do not leave hoof work or dental work for too long

Health, Symptoms, and Illness

General horse health is shown in the Welfare menu, and that page can also lead you into:

  • illnesses
  • symptoms
  • medicine records
  • work needing done

If your horse has visible symptoms or active illness issues, those need attention quickly. A horse that is physically unwell is much more likely to have other wellbeing problems layered on top.

Daily Care

Daily care is one of the clearest signs of whether a horse is being looked after properly. The Welfare screen directly shows whether daily care is complete, and it can send you to the Daily Care screen if it is not.
