🧬 Choosing the Right Pair

Good breeding starts with good pairing choices. Before breeding, think about:

  • The parents' stats
  • The traits you want in the foal
  • Breed and bloodline goals
  • Fertility and long-term breeding plans

Breeding is not just about producing foals quickly. It is also about building horses with purpose, whether that means better lines, stronger performance traits, or a breeding program you are proud of. It is important to get your horses genetic tested for responsible breeding.

Pregnancy

Once breeding is successful, the mare becomes pregnant and the pregnancy begins immediately.

Pregnancies also have:

  • A chance of miscarriage
  • A chance of twins

Pregnant mares can recieve an ultrasound via Vet to recieve the estimated due date. If a mare goes past her estimated due date, the mare can have a c-section done.
